The problem with babies

One of the biggest problem with babies is that they frequently and repeatedly do things that are cuter than you may believe possible.
Babies move a lot, and make good photos blurry.
And nearly every time they do one of these things, they manage to get just out of focus. Clearly, I need a lense with a faster auto focus.

They make cameras with smile detection now, they auto-”magically” take a picture when a human smile is detected. Somebody should come out with cute detection… I’m sure this would sell.

Also, I have to remark that your powers of observation are incredibly off if you didn’t notice I was pregnant. (This is your only hint as to who is stalking your blog)

I’m not sure I’m interested in a camera taking over more functions of the process than I’ve already allowed. Cameras recognizing our faces is only the first step down a slippery slope that leads to robot assassins, SkyNet, and toasters refusing to properly brown bread.

I can’t recall that I’ve seen you recently Rebecca, but had I, my powers of observation would have been unnecessary to deduce your pregnancy. I am a man of subtle power and my influence runs wide.

Also, I log IP addresses. So, while you are commenting from a NAT screened IP of 131.216.14.1, I know that resolves to our internal network at 10.23.0.247, a dynamic leased IP in the Harry Reid Center that was assigned to the computer HRC309-2062259, which as we all know, is a Dell.

Additionally, you are using the same midwife as we did.

Well, it doesn’t help that you’re tech-savvy. I would have much preferred that you played a guessing game… Oh well. I had a smile for a little while. And how far does your influence run? If it ran to asking a mutual acquaintance to look up who works in office #… then that’s just cheating. ;)

I agree about the camera thing, it is pretty creepy. The lab students here at the HRC just got one and think its hilarious to leave it on while people walk down the hall.

The blog is really nice, and your kid is adorable. I have to say that it’s given me a different outlook on you. You remind me of my uncle, and I’m pretty sure you guys have met one convention or another. I’ll show you a picture one of these days.
